A deposit is your maximum financial liability during the rental period. This means that:

• If damages exceed the deposit, you pay only the deposit amount, and the insurance covers the rest;
• If damages are less than the deposit, we deduct the compensation amount, and the remaining funds are returned to you.

Why Is It Important to Follow the Terms of the Contract?

What Is a Car Rental Deposit in Terms of Insurance?

The deposit is similar to an "insurance deductible." It is the portion of damages that the client pays out-of-pocket if an insurance event occurs. For example:

• if damages amount to 1000$ and the deductible is 400$, the insurance company pays the difference: 1000$ - 400$ = 600$;
• the client covers the remaining amount within the deposit limit.

It is important to understand that insurance companies usually do not insure commercial vehicles with a zero deductible. Therefore, part of the financial responsibility is transferred to the client.

The deposit also covers possible expenses such as:

• repairs if the car is damaged;
• compensation for missing fuel;
• interior cleaning if the car is soiled.

How to Pay the Deposit?

At ALIN, you can pay the rental deposit using several methods:

1. In cash: We return the deposit immediately after the car is returned, provided it is clean and we can inspect it for damage. If it is dirty, the funds will be returned after cleaning and confirmation of no damage, but no later than 24 hours after the return;

2. By bank card: After returning the car, we unblock the funds within 24 hours and provide you with a terminal receipt and/or vehicle acceptance report. The deposit is usually returned to your card instantly or within 2-3 business days. The maximum processing time depends on your bank and does not exceed 30 days.

These methods are convenient, simple, and secure.

How to Reduce the Deposit Amount?

If the deposit amount seems too high, you can opt for additional insurance. The cost depends on the rental duration and is calculated individually.

Note that this service has limitations:

• it is available only to drivers aged 23 years and older with at least 3 years of driving experience;
• the minimum rental period is 3 days.

Additional insurance significantly reduces the deposit amount but does not cover expenses for repairing damaged tires, loss or theft of windshield wipers, and other non-insurable incidents.
